NVC West Community Learning Day

photoCome and join us for a day of sharing and exercises for improving connection with people in your life, using the principles of NVC i.e. Nonviolent Communication

When? This event now runs twice yearly and 2018 dates are: 10 March and 13 October. Please arrive 9.45am for 10am (we finish at 5 pm).

Future dates? If you want to get event updates, please sign up for my newsletter.

Where? Central Bristol: Quaker Meeting House, Champion Square, Bristol BS2 9DB (scroll down to the bottom of the page for help finding the venue)

Parking? Hooray, some free parking is available at this venue in the forecourt, for up to 8 cars, on “first arrive, first park” basis. Please car pool as much as possible so that nobody has to use the expensive central Bristol car parks. You can post lift offers or requests on Facebook group for NVC West.

Who is it for? Anyone who’d like to improve connection and communication skills, especially when there’s tension or difference.  NVC newbies welcome 🙂  NVC lovers will find community and deepening for their skills as well.

What’s in  the programme? We start and finish with whole group sharing round. There are breaks for tea/coffee and lunch. The practice sessions are offered in response to the needs and requests of the participants on the day.

How much? £25 if booked beforehand and £30 just showing up on the day. (We need to cover the costs of running this event, trainers contribute facilitation for free.)

How to book? We’re now using events organising platform called Meetup. There, you can see who is interested, who’s booked and how to book.  Have a look.

Trainers: Typically facilitated by at least two trainers, typically myself Dorota Godby (www.gentlepower.co.uk), Shantigarbha (www.seedofpeace.org) and Gesine Schrader (www.seedofpeace.org). Participants are invited to make requests and offers for NVC activities too.

Lunch? Please bring your own food to eat and/or to take part in shared table buffet or eat out if you prefer. Tea/coffee will be provided during the day.

Hope to see you there!

Help finding the venue:

The venue for this event is very central but somewhat hidden from view so please take a moment to plan how to find it!

The address, again, is Quaker Meeting House, Champion Square, Bristol BS2 9DB

The building looks like this:

Central Quaker Meeting House

See the rotating Google photo for the location.

You may notice the building is in a little square and there’s Phoenix pub opposite.

By bus, get off as close as you can to Cabot Circus or Old Market Street (it’s between bus station and Old Market).

By car, to use the car park in forecourt you MUST approach from Temple Way and turn left into Champion Square immediately after Future Inn (on your left). Then turn left again and the venue will be on your right. PLEASE NOTE: Access is blocked from another direction with bollards even if it looks possible on the map.

Also note that the turning into Champion Square looks unobvious, as if it was only for loading (but it isn’t 😉 You turn left, just before the two trees pictured here: (click to enlarge)
